I bought this model from Kotly 8 years ago and have been very happy with it's performance, I use it between a wood burning stove and a thermal store. It lets the water temperature build up to a constant 70C before feeding the hot water to the thermal store, which makes the fire burn more efficiently and doesn't dump cold water into the top of the thermal store while the wood burner gets going.
I'm just about to order another to use on a pellet burner I'm installing in another part of the house.
To use with a wood burner you'll need a flue thermostat to turn the pump on when the flue temperature gets hot enough, I have mine set at 80C, but I also have a pipe thermostat on the hot pipe from the stove which also turns the pump on at 40C, as a back up. Note, the two thermostats work independently, once either temperature has been reached the pump will turn on
I've had cause to test the Laddomat during power cuts, it resets to flow-through-mode and allows the hot water to flow through to the thermal store, but of course the hot water pipe from the stove has to be rising all the way so that the gravity feed will work.
