Small coal for automatic boiler and furnance

Small coal is a special kind of coal for combustion in central heating boilers and furnaces with automatic feeder system - retort feeder.

Grain size of small coal comes within a high granulation range from 8 to 25 mm. That ensures that the small coal carbon pieces will be easily delivered by an automatic fuel supply system to the boiler retort burner. High small coal calorific value ranges in 23-24 MJ/kg providing the right amount of heat during combustion. Low levels of ash - 7% and sulfur - 0.5% guarantees an ecological and low-emission combustion of this fine coal type.

Noteworthy is the very low level of coal RI (coal refractive index) - 0-5. Small coal low RI level determines the gasification slag occurrence which is a very important parameter for trouble-free operation of the furnace or boiler with a retort. The higher the RI, the larger and harder sintered carbon (ie. Slag) forms itself in the coal degassing and plasticity area, which after evaporation of the small coal volatiles will be not combusted (resulting in solid fuel losses).
