Type B residual current circuit breakers are suitable for domestic as well as industrial applications where inverters, photovoltaic installations, electric vehicle chargers, etc. are used. Type B residual current circuit breakers are sensitive to sinusoidal residual current, pulsed rectified currents and smooth currents. These circuit breakers have a high frequency of up to 1 kHz. They are based on electronic technology, which benefits from a more precise evaluation of the differential current, and consequently the life of the device is extended. These circuit breakers do not encounter the difficulties associated with magnetization of internal circuits, as is the case with standard solutions. This makes it possible to reduce the frequency of recommended tests, but they must be carried out regularly, in accordance with current regulations and standards.
