The Fronius Ohmpilot is a consumer control controller designed to use excess solar energy to heat water. With an infinitely adjustable output from 0 to 9 kW, excess PV energy can be used for highly efficient use and powering of household consumers. Ohmpilot is primarily used to intelligently control heating elements to provide hot water for boilers and buffer tanks, but can also be used for infrared heaters or bathroom towel warmers. Solar energy can therefore supply a family home with an average level of water consumption with most of its hot water needs between April and October. The result is maximum self-sufficiency, reduced household CO2 emissions and no need to run the building's main hot water supply system during the summer months.
