Regulus RT4 draught regulator is an improved model and successor of the standard Regulus RT3. Draught regulator is sometimes known as a thermostatic draft regulator. Compared to the previous model, it has a larger lifting capacity of the primary air inlet flap, the housing of the draught regulator is secured against unscrewing and increased scale abrasion resistance.
Boiler draught regulator in a mechanical way controls the amount of air that enters the combustion chamber. With the help of the rotary knob, the desired boiler temperature setpoint is chosen. After setting the temperature at which the boiler will operate the mechanism regulates the boiler primary air flap (open or close - depending on boiler water temperature) so the appropriate temperature will be tried to be kept at a constant level. The draught regulator can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
The biggest advantage of a boiler draught regulator is the mechanical operation utilising the thermostatic principle. It requires no electric power source to operate (not like its electronic counterpart) and provides a smooth adjustment and combustion process control of the central heating boiler (or furnace). The ability to incorporate a draught regulator in a boiler reduces the visits in the boiler room (rare need for regulation) and providing stable conditions of the combustion process in order to achieve the predetermined temperature.
