Modern solid fuel boiler control with microcontroller

Unica sensor is an improved version of the red MODERATOR Unica, which is designed to burn different types of solid fuels (especially wood waste) with advanced control. Digital controller TECH ST-81 with fuzzy logic algorithm is responsible for the smooth combustion and output power control. The controller performs real-time measurements of water temperature in the boiler and on its basis decides of blower fan, central heating pump and domestic hot water pump (if installed in the system) working cycle. The steering in the boilers of UNICA Sensor in addition to the standard sensors can be also equipped with an exhaust temperature sensor (additional accessory). Thanks to the exhaust gases temperature sensor, the flue gas temperature on the smoke outlet is constantly controlled by the steering and in case of exceeding the temperature, ventilator working is decreased or stopped. Using the exhaust gas temperature sensor results in estimated fuel efficiency decrease by 15% with simultaneous stabilization of the output water temperature, resulting in longer life of the heat exchanger and the boiler itself. Checking the flue gas temperature at the outlet of the furnace by the steering also causes lower emissions of dust and gases into the atmosphere, making the air from the chimney cleaner. In this way, the thermal energy created from burning coal or wood in the form of exhaust gas is not wasted fleeing through the chimney into the atmosphere.

Robust design of the MODERATOR UNICA Sensor boiler

Three way flue gas convection channel construction of the heat exchanger achieves a very high efficiency and slow burn-up stability. Directional separation of primary and secondary air makes possible to adjust the precision of the combustion process. Grate ash removal is carried out by a movable steel grate placed under the water steel grate and is operated like a clutch pedal aside the boiler. After pressing the pedal the steel grate rises between the water grate leading to mechanical ash removal. UNICA Sensor boiler models which come with a nominal output power of: 10kW, 15kW, 20kW, 25kW have a convenient ash box, where the entire ash after burning or grate cleaning can be easily removed. All boiler doors have solid thermal insulation, adjustable hinges and the outer surface of the thermal insulation made out of vermiculite.

Configuration and extension of UNICA Sensor heating boiler

MODERATOR Unica Sensor models with 40 kW nominal output power or higher (up to 60 kW) can have a hole for a burner which can be mounted on the left or right, or frontwards. The holes for the burner are made individually on request as an extra option and allow future use of the Moderator burner (30 kW, 40 kW, 60 kW or 120 kW) with a solid fuel hopper (tank) for pellets or wood chips (depending on the fuel humidity the burner is equipped with an iron or ceramic head).

Warranty for the UNICA Sensor boiler

The guarantee covers a period of 3 years for the boiler and 2 years for the steering.
