The thermostatic mixing valve TSV B maintains the return water temperature to the boiler at least at the level of the valve opening temperature, thereby preventing low-temperature corrosion and clogging of the boiler. Thanks to this, the boiler operates with higher efficiency and its lifespan is extended.
During fuel combustion, water is also released in the form of steam. If the flue gas temperature is sufficiently high, the steam exits the chimney along with the flue gases. However, if the flue gases cool down inside the boiler, water vapor condensation will occur at this point. The resulting condensate contains combustion byproducts that can be very aggressive, especially when burning wood or solid fuels, and may cause rapid corrosion and clogging of heat exchange surfaces.
The thermostatic mixing valve TSV B mixes cold water returning from the heating system or storage tank with hot water from the boiler outlet, thereby maintaining the return water to the boiler and the heat exchange surface at a temperature where condensation does not occur. It does not require a balancing valve for its function. Its installation is simpler, and regulation is more precise.
The thermostatic mixing valve TSV B has a built-in thermostatic cartridge that closes the "A" inlet (from the heating system) if the return water to the boiler (outlet "AB") is lower than the nominal temperature. Upon reaching the opening temperature, the thermostat slowly opens the return water inlet "A" from the heating system so that after mixing with hot water from the boiler outlet (inlet "B"), the return water temperature to the boiler (outlet "AB") is slightly higher than the valve opening temperature. At the same time, it gradually closes the "B" inlet, thereby limiting the flow of hot water from the bypass. This eliminates the need for a balancing ball valve.
