The BVTS thermostatic valve is used in heating installations as a safety device for fireplaces and solid fuel boilers. The valve prevents the boiler from overheating by discharging water from the heater or condensing coil. BVTS also protects against backflow of flames into the solid fuel feeder by flooding the fuel in case of excessive temperature rise. BVTS is an automatic valve, meaning it operates without the need for electric power or compressed air.
Do not expose directly to fire. Failure to follow this recommendation may result in valve damage and void the warranty.
The BVTS thermostatic valve is activated by a temperature increase. The valve consists of two permanently integrated elements:
The valve is adjusted to open at a sensor temperature of 95ºC. The valve setting is fixed and cannot be changed by the user. When the temperature around the sensor rises, the sensor's filling also heats up, causing an increase in pressure. This pressure is transmitted through a capillary tube to the bellows, which acts on the valve. At a sensor temperature of 95ºC, the pressure in the bellows becomes greater than the spring force, causing the valve stem to rise and the valve to open.
Do not expose the valve directly to fire. Failure to follow this recommendation may result in valve damage and void the warranty.
