Buffer (accumulation) tanks are designed to store heat energy that has been generated by an external heat source. Such a heat source can be e.g. central heating boiler, heat pump, fireplace, solar collectors. A buffer tank installed in system allows to limit frequency of switching on central heating boiler or heat pump and allows to maintain stable temperature in whole system. It can operate in open as well as closed systems and at the same time it serves as a so called "coupling in the system". Heat stored in tank can be directly transferred to central heating system or heat up domestic hot water. Buffers have a large number of connections that allow them to be connected in different variants of heating systems and supplied with different temperatures of heating medium. Depending on capacity, tanks have polyurethane hard foam insulation, or in larger capacities, removable NEODUL foam insulation is used. Storage tanks are not enamelled, therefore they are adapted to store heat in natural medium such as demineralised boiler water, glycol, etc.

Connection pipes are located at an angle of 45º on right and left side facing tank. Tanks from 200 to 400 litres have adjustable feet, volumes from 500 to 5000 litres are placed on a ring instead of feet.
