Technical Description

The KVS MORAVIA type 9106 heating appliance – a solid fuel cooker with a heat exchanger (until 2014, a solid fuel boiler) is designed for burning solid fuel such as wood and wood briquettes.

The cooker with a heat exchanger can also be used for heating food and cooking thanks to the plate it is equipped with. The body of the appliance is a steel construction made of 4 mm thick sheet metal. The materials used in the production of this model are similar compared to other types of KVS MORAVIA appliances.

The appliance with a heat exchanger is intended to be connected to the central heating system of the house. At a nominal heat output of 8.4 kW, the power transferred to the water part is 5.5 kW, and to the room 2.9 kW. The capacity of the water heat exchanger body is 14 liters.

The appliance cannot be used without connection to the heating system!

Fireplace

The fireplace consists of the heat exchanger itself (a welded structure with fins) and a grate base, on which two cast iron grates are placed: a hanging one and a lower sliding one. The lower horizontal grate is operated with a lever and is designed for easier cleaning of the fireplace.

Heating System

Room heating is done through radiant heat, which is emitted from the front, the plate, and the sides of the appliance. The built-in heat exchanger allows for heating other rooms using radiators or heating water in a boiler. The appliance's cooking plate is intended for cooking and heats up over its entire surface during operation.

Combustion Control

The intensity of combustion is regulated by the supply of primary and secondary air. Primary air is regulated through an air rose located on the ashtray door. By rotating the handle of the air rose, the amount of incoming air can be controlled, thus affecting the burning speed and the appliance's power.

The appliance also has a secondary air supply, which flows into the fireplace through a cast iron plate with holes and through the fireplace door – via a channel in the lower part of the door's thermal cover. Thanks to this process, the fuel is used efficiently to its maximum potential.
