The KVS MORAVIA type 9114-V Sofie stove is designed to burn solid fuels such as wood and wood briquettes.
This type with a water heater (heat exchanger) combines the advantages of a cooking and food warming appliance with a central heating boiler. The 9114-V type also delights with the possibility to see the flames through the glass doors of the firebox. The materials used in the production of this model are similar to those used in other KVS MORAVIA devices.
The appliance is designed so that while maintaining the cooking function, it can also heat additional rooms. The stove with a water heater requires more maintenance than devices without a heater, so it requires more frequent refueling and grate cleaning. Continuous burning mode cannot be set. The stove is suitable for heating smaller apartments and holiday cottages.
The firebox is traditionally made of 40 mm thick fireclay plates and a solid cast iron bottom lined with refractory concrete and a cast iron grate. Since this model has large firebox doors (width 300 mm x height 245 mm), logs with a diameter of up to 230 mm and length of 350 mm can be placed inside. For this reason, this model will be more suitable if you prefer heating rather than baking and cooking.
The intensity of combustion is regulated by the supply of primary and secondary air. Primary air is controlled on the ash door using an air regulator. Additionally, preheated air is drawn into the firebox through holes in the rear fireclay and controlled by a rod, which ends on the front wall of the stove below the firebox door. Combustion also involves air drawn through the gaps in the firebox door, which cannot be regulated. Thanks to the supply of this additional air, double combustion occurs in the firebox, during which gases produced during burning are burned again. This process ensures maximum fuel utilization.
The L-shaped water heater is located at the rear and side of the firebox (replacing the fireclay bricks). The outlets for connection to the central heating system are on the rear wall of the appliance. Due to limited space in the stove construction, the water heater is smaller and thus contains less water. Therefore, we recommend connecting the stove to a circuit with forced water circulation (with a pump).
The stove with a water heater cannot be operated without connection to a heating system!
