Technical Description

The KVS MORAVIA type 9114 Sofie stoves are designed for burning solid fuels such as wood and wood briquettes. This type combines the advantages of fireplace stoves and cookers, as it not only allows cooking and heating but also delights with the possibility of watching the burning fire through the glass doors of the firebox. The materials used for the production of this model are similar compared to other KVS MORAVIA devices.

The firebox is traditionally made of 40 mm thick chamotte plates and a solid cast iron bottom lined with fireproof concrete and a cast iron grate. Due to the fact that this model has a large firebox door (width 300 mm x height 245 mm), it is possible to insert logs with a diameter of up to 230 mm and a length of 350 mm. From this perspective, this model is more suitable if you prefer heating rather than baking and cooking.

The intensity of combustion is regulated by primary and secondary air supply. Primary air is controlled on the ashtray door using an air difference. Additionally, heated air is drawn into the firebox through openings in the rear chamotte and is regulated using a lever, the end of which is located on the front wall of the stove under the firebox door. Furthermore, air is also drawn into the firebox through gaps in the firebox doors. This air cannot be regulated. Thanks to the additional air supply in the firebox, double combustion occurs, during which gases produced during combustion are burned again. This process ensures that the fuel is used to the maximum possible extent.
